Today, we've had 8 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection in Ulvik, which brings the total number of people infected, and in isolation, up to 61. We've also had 6 confirmed cases after today's quick tests. We are still awaiting the test results from a substantial number of tests taken yesterday.

The Bergen emergency room will provide a mobile test station in Ulvik tomorrow at 12:00 PM, which will considerably increase the testing capacity in Ulvik.

Rules regarding quarantine and isolation, from https://www.fhi.no/en/op/novel-coronavirus-facts-advice/facts-and-general-advice/quarantine-and-isolation/

What is quarantine?

Quarantine means that you should reduce contact with other people as much as possible. You cannot go to school, work, or participate in other activities, and you cannot use public transport. You can go for a walk on your own. You should get others to shop for you. If this is not possible, you are permitted to take care of absolutely necessary errands, but ensure that you maintain proper distance and wear a face mask. If you develop a cough, acute respiratory-tract infection, shortness of breath, or fever, you should isolate yourself (see below), and contact an emergency room doctor by telephone at 116 117.

The quarantine period in Ulvik is 14 days.

The rules for self-quarantine are the same as they are for normal quarantine, but the self-quarantine is rescinded when close contacts (e.g., children) have received a negative test result.

What is home isolation?

Home isolation means you should maintain the full social distance from everyone else, including those you live with. Use a separate room (does not apply to small children) and do not leave your home. You should have food delivered to your room, and use your own towels and toiletries. If your condition deteriorates, contact an emergency room doctor by telephone at 116 117. The isolation lasts until the doctor says that you are infection-free.
