Coronavirus - Klikk for stort bilete  04 FEB 2021, 10 AM: NEW INFECTION NUMBERS

There are now 25 new confirmed cases of COVID-19 infection in Ulvik, which brings the total number of people infected, and in isolation, up to 53. There is a substantial amount of work ongoing with regard to infection tracking, and many more people will be tested. The Bergen emergency room will provide a mobile test station in Ulvik tomorrow at 12:00 PM, which will increase the testing capacity in Ulvik considerably. We would like to remind you that the rules for self-quarantine are the same as they are for normal quarantine:

Rules regarding quarantine and isolation, from https://www.fhi.no/en/op/novel-coronavirus-facts-advice/facts-and-general-advice/quarantine-and-isolation/

What is home isolation?

If a doctor has told you that you have COVID-19, or if you are awaiting test results, you must stay isolated so that you do not potentially infect others. Home isolation means you should maintain the full social distance from those you live with. Do not leave your home, and use a separate room and bathroom. You should have food delivered to your room and use your own towels and toiletries. If your condition deteriorates, contact an emergency room doctor by telephone at 116 117. You can also be isolated in a hospital. The isolation lasts until the doctor says that you are infection-free.

What is quarantine?

If a doctor has told you that you are not infected, but you have been in an area with a high infection rate, you will have to be in quarantine. The same applies when entering Norway from several countries. You have to stay at home or in another suitable location, but quarantine is not as strict as home isolation. Quarantine means that you should reduce contact with other people as much as possible, but you do not have to be completely isolated. Do not go to school, work, or participate in other activities, and do not use public transport (bus, tram, tube/subway, train, aeroplane, or ferry). You can, however, go for a walk on your own. If you develop a cough, acute respiratory-tract infection, shortness of breath, or fever, you should be tested. Contact an emergency room doctor by telephone at 116 117.

The quarantine period in Ulvik is 14 days.
